Soyuz Rocket Lost After Maneuvering In "Wrong Direction" Written 4 December 2017
The Daily Mail reported that a Russian Soyuz spacecraft that vanished last week after takeoff was lost because technicians did not reprogram the rocket so that it was aware it was launching from Vostochny spaceport in Russia rather than the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. The rocket “tried to fix its position based on the old co-ordinates,” and as a result maneuvered “in a wrong direction,” according to the UK Times.
