SpaceX To Resume Flights from Launch Complex 40 Tuesday Written 11 December 2017

CBS News reported that a year after a “spectacular preflight explosion that destroyed a Falcon 9 rocket and its satellite payload,” SpaceX is “on track to resume flights” from a rebuilt Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral. SpaceX manager John Muratore “said the company spent about $50 million on the project, virtually rebuilding the pad from scratch with the emphasis on safety and efficiency.” SpaceX’s focus, Muratore said, was “to make it as safe and reliable as possible. The big thing about safety is, the safer the pad is, the more operationally efficient it is.” The first launch from the rebuilt pad is scheduled for 11:46 AM EST Tuesday.
