From the AIAA INPSI Technical Committee Written 16 February 2018

The Inlets, Nozzles, and Propulsion Systems Integration (INPSI) Technical Committee invites you to attend the 4th AIAA Propulsion Aerodynamics Workshop on July 7-8, 2018 in Cincinnati, OH.  The full 2-day workshop will take place the weekend prior to the AIAA Propulsion & Energy 2018 conference.

The focus of the workshop will be on assessing the accuracy of CFD in obtaining air breathing system performance and flow structure to include nozzle forces, plume surveys, subsonic inlet recovery and distortion, and high-speed inlet performance. Experimental data are available for the test cases; however, the CFD studies will be performed as a blind trial and compared with the experimental data during the workshop.

Documents outlining required data will be provided for multiple cases featuring isolated inlets, isolated nozzles, nozzle with aft deck, and a high-speed inlet. A statistical framework will be used to assess the CFD results.

Baseline computational grids will be provided for CFD solvers. However, geometry will also be available to those interested in developing their own meshes. Participants may run one or all of the test cases and present their results.

The workshop provides an impartial forum to present findings, discuss results, exchange ideas, and evaluate the effectiveness of existing computer codes and modeling techniques for propulsion CFD.
