Cygnus Spacecraft Successfully Launches Aboard Antares Early Monday Written 21 May 2018

NASA reports that a Cygnus spacecraft successfully launched early Monday aboard an Antares 230 rocket from NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia on Orbital ATK’s ninth cargo mission as part as NASA’s Commercial Resupply Services contract. Launch occurred at 4:43 a.m. EDT Monday. Astronauts Scott Tingle and Ricky Arnold will capture Cygnus with the space station’s robotic arm when it arrives on Thursday, May 24. Cygnus is carrying about 7,400 pounds of supplies, cargo and research equipment.
