Aviation Today reports that the US Air Force is exploring “how it will oversee its share of the F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter program” in light of the US military’s recently announced decision to shift more control of the fighter to the individual military branches. According to Air Force Materiel Command Commander Gen. Ellen Pawlikowski, the Air Force is in the “early stages” of planning for a new F-35 “fleet management office.” Pawlikowski added that the Air Force is working to “make sure that we do this seamlessly.”
