SpaceX To Launch "First Space Sculpture" This Fall Written 13 August 2018
The Daily Mail (UK) reports that the Orbital Reflector “space sculpture” will be launched into orbit for three weeks this fall aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg AFB in October. Orbital Reflector, an installation “co-produced and presented by the Nevada Museum of Art,” is the length of a football field in the “shape of an elongated diamond,” and will be able to be seen four times a night “for several weeks before disintegrating upon re-entry into Earth’s atmosphere.”
