SpaceX About a Month Away from First Commercial Crew Test Flight Written 9 January 2019
The Houston Chronicle reports that SpaceX founder Elon Musk announced that the first test flight of the commercial crew program is “about a month away,” which suggests another delay on the project. Musk did not elaborate on the cause of the apparent delay, but “the Twitter update comes as the federal government shutdown stretches well into the double digits.” Because SpaceX launches are conducted on NASA-owned launch pads at Cape Canaveral, “government shutdown-related delays are nothing new for the company.”
