Collins Aerospace To Supply Flight Deck For NASA’s X-59A Supersonic Demonstrator Written 18 January 2019

Aviation Week reports that Collins Aerospace has been selected to supply the avionics for NASA’s “X-59A QueSST low-boom supersonic flight demonstrator, now under development by Lockheed Martin’s Skunk Works.” Collins will provide “flight-deck avionics and an enhanced vision system,” as well as assist Lockheed with “developmental engineering support to tailor its Pro Line Fusion avionics system to the requirements of the single-seat, Mach 1.4 X-59.” The companies plan to “jointly develop software applications for the flight-deck avionics.” Collins will also provide ARC-210 radios, a suite of “navigation and surveillance equipment,” and a “dual-camera multispectral infrared enhanced vision system, the EVS-3600.”
