The New York Times reported that “in a measurement taken on Wednesday, NASA’s Curiosity rover discovered startlingly high amounts of methane in the Martian air.” A NASA spokesperson said, “To maintain scientific integrity, the project science team will continue to analyze the data before confirming results.” National Institute for Astrophysics scientist Marco Giuranna “confirmed he had been told of the reading of 21 parts per billion but added that the finding was preliminary.” (Image Credit: NASA)
