The University of Alabama in Huntsville  reports that University of Alabama in Huntsville undergraduate student Joseph Agnew “recently provided a standing room only crowd at the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Propulsion and Energy Forum in Indianapolis, Ind. with an overview of the state of the art of warp drive theory and the feasibility of a future working system, based on a paper he wrote.” In his paper, Agnew “describes a field strewn with major hurdles and potentially major opportunities, where current support technologies must stretch farther to support experimental research but where recent developments hold out promise.” Said Agnew, “Warp drive theory is at the point where the mathematics needs more development and the technologies need more development.” (Image: Joseph Agnew at the 2019 AIAA Propulsion and Energy Forum in Indianapolis. | AIAA)
