CBS News reports that UPS announced it is the first to receive approval from the FAA to “operate a nationwide fleet of drones.”  In its announcement, UPS said it will initially set up its drone delivery program specifically for hospital campuses nationwide before expanding to other industries outside of healthcare, since the FAA has yet to write “regulations to allow commercial drone flights over populated areas.”  The approval eliminates limits on the size of potential UPS drone operations, but the company “still faces severe restrictions before it can run a large commercial operation with drones.” (Image: A test drone making a UPS delivery lands on Children's Island in Marblehead, MA, 22 Sept. 2016.| Associated Press–©)
