Aviation Week reports that British Royal Air Force (RAF) test pilot Flt. Lt. Mathew Stannard is set to join “Virgin Orbit as part of UK plans to expand its defense domain into space.” The Eurofighter Typhoon pilot “will join the Virgin Orbit horizontal launch program next year, working with the company’s test pilots flying the Boeing 747-400 from which Virgin’s LauncherOne satellite launcher is” deployed.
