Manufacturers’ Monthly (AUS) reports that “the role of Australian manufacturing in producing the 1,000th Boeing 787 Dreamliner was celebrated on November 29, with Victorian Minister for Economic Development, Tim Pallas, visiting Boeing’s site in Fishermans Bend in Melbourne.” At the plant, “wing components for the premium commercial aircraft are manufactured. The site is also involved in design, engineering, and advanced manufacturing roles for Boeing’s global supply chain.” Currently, “250 aerospace companies operate from Victoria, including Lockheed Martin, Thales, and BAE Systems, which conduct activities such as aerospace research, development, and manufacturing.”
