FAA Developing New UAV Standards Written 4 February 2020

The Wall Street Journal reports that according to a Federal Register filing, the FAA is developing new safety standards for UAVs. Specifically, the FAA is beginning the process of certifying UAVs as a “special class” of aircraft. Such a move would mean significant progress toward the use of UAVs in package delivery efforts.
