Aerospace America reported that Jerry Grey, “editor emeritus of Aerospace America and the magazine’s founding publisher,” died February 4 “from complications of pneumonia.” He was 93. Grey was described as “a pioneer in the field of space nuclear propulsion and power” and was a Professor of Aerospace Engineering at Princeton University. Grey also became an Honorary Fellow of AIAA in 2007. Grey “was instrumental in setting the tone and look of Aerospace America when it debuted in January 1984 as the successor to AIAA’s Astronautics & Aeronautics magazine.” He continued to provide his input and advice regarding the magazine following his retirement.
