Josef Kallo Head of Energy Systems Integration DLR, Germany

After attaining his doctorate from the University of Ulm, Dr Kallo worked as a project engineer for General Motors/Opel in the field of fuel cell vehicle development. In 2006 he switched to the German Aerospace Center (DLR), where he is currently head of energy systems integration and in charge of hydrogen fuel cells and battery system integration in aircraft applications. At DLR he has led several hybrid, fuel cell and aviation projects like the Antares DLR H2 project, the A320-Green Taxi project and the Hybrid Power Plant project. Two of these projects have received awards: the F-Cell Award 2007 and the Clean Tech Media Award 2012. In 2015 Dr Kallo became professor and director of the Institute for Energy Conversion and Storage at the University of Ulm.
