Mislav Tolusic Co-Managing Partner, and CIO Marlinspike

Mislav Tolusic is the Chief Investment Officer and Co-Managing Partner at Marlinspike, he is focused on deal sourcing, due diligence, negotiations, and portfolio management. Mislav is a voting member of the investment committee.

Prior to joining Marlinspike, Mislav was Chief Investment Officer and Partner at AIM13|CVP Partners, an investment vehicle co-managed by Crumpton Global and AIM13. In addition, he was Partner and Chief Financial Officer for the Crumpton Group, where he started an investment arm of the group and pioneered hands-on approach to venture investing. He built deal sourcing networks, led diligence, negotiated transactions, and sat on boards of portfolio companies. Representative transactions during his tenure: FusionX (sold to Accenture), Orbis Operations (sold to McNally Capital), Hoverfly Technologies, Chainalysis, PreVeil, Trinity Cyber, Slingshot Aerospace, National Resiliency, and others. He served in various capacities on boards of Hoverfly Technologies, Trinity Cyber, WhiteFox Defense Technologies, and PreVeil. He has extensive experience of working with management teams, taking corporate actions, and driving strategic outcomes for shareholders.

Before joining Crumpton Group, Mislav worked as a Senior Portfolio Analyst with Highland Capital Management. Highland is a Dallas, TX-based alternative asset manager. He was part of the distressed private equity team where he focused on working with companies in plastics injection molding and aerospace. Representative transactions: Penda Bedliners (sold to Resilience Capital Partners), Moll Industries (sold to Riverbend Industries) and NexTech Aerospace.

Prior to Highland Capital Management, Mislav worked as a strategy consultant for Dalekovod, a Croatia-based transmission and distribution line manufacturer, where he worked on corporate strategy development.  A representative transaction during his tenure is the creation of UniDal, a joint venture between Dalekovod and Unior Group.

Mislav started his career at Airbus UK, where he worked as part of the internal strategy team.

Mislav has a BS Degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Zagreb, Croatia. He graduated first in his class and was awarded a Dean’s Medal. He came to the United States in 2003 and received his MBA from Vanderbilt University. He is a proud American citizen, currently living in Alexandria, VA with his wife and two young boys.
