X-60A Hypersonic Research Rocket Completes Critical Design Review Written 8 March 2019

FlightGlobal reports that USAF’s X-60A hypersonic research vehicle has completed its critical design review and has moved into its fabrication phase. AFRL “is developing the X-60A to increase the frequency of flight testing at hypersonic speeds, which it hopes will lower the cost of maturing hypersonic technologies.” According to USAF, the X-60A’s initial flight is scheduled to take place in about a year at Cecil Spaceport in Jacksonville, Florida.
