Russia Reveals Plans For Additional ISS Spaceships Written 1 November 2019

The Houston Chronicle reports that Roscosmos Director General Dmitry Rogozin “announced that he would fund the construction of two additional [crewed] spaceships in order to deliver NASA astronauts to the International Space Station, according to a Russian news outlet.” Rogozin told a Russian news source, “I gave a command to Roscosmos...to allocate extra funds to make two more [Soyuz] spaceships. The production capacities of our factory [the Energia Space Rocket Corporation] allow producing four spaceships a year but it is possible to produce five spacecraft.” A spokesman for NASA “said the agency intended to ‘discuss options for Soyuz seats with Roscosmos.’”
