USA Today reports that Rolls-Royce North America announced that it intends to shutter its aircraft-component manufacturing facility in Prince George County, Virginia, by mid-2021. In a statement Saturday, company spokesperson Donald Campbell indicated that the closure is attributable to a decline in business during the COVID-19 crisis. Campbell said, “The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a historic collapse in civil aviation, which will take several years" to recover from.
